World Economic Forum Releases Technology Convergence Report 2025
Exploring How the Fusion of Technologies is Transforming Industries and Creating New Economic Value
Geneva, 3 June 2025 – The World Economic Forum (WEF) has published its highly anticipated Technology Convergence Report 2025, shedding light on the accelerating integration of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and engineering biology. These combinations are not only reshaping industries but also unlocking unprecedented economic and societal opportunities. However, the report notes that many organizations face challenges in identifying strategic investment areas amid this fast-evolving landscape.

Drawing on insights from a survey of 2,000 executives worldwide and extensive expert analysis, the report maps out 23 high-potential pairings of technologies spanning eight critical domains. This mapping aims to guide decision-makers in prioritizing where to focus efforts to maximize innovation impact.

By applying the 3C Framework, organizations can better position themselves to harness exponential innovation trends and catalyze transformation across sectors. The report encourages leaders to align their strategic planning with the emerging logic of convergence, where intersections of multiple technologies become the primary drivers of future innovation and value creation.
