TÜBİTAK and Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) Launch Bilateral Cooperation Call for Joint R&D Projects
13 May 2025 – Ankara, Turkey – The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) has announced the opening of a bilateral cooperation call in partnership with the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT). This initiative aims to foster collaborative research and development (R&D) and innovation projects between academic and industry teams from Turkey and Malaysia.
Overview of the Cooperation Call
The call encourages joint academic-industry projects that leverage the strengths of both countries’ scientific communities. Participating teams must comprise researchers and industry professionals from both Turkey and Malaysia working in partnership. Importantly, unilateral project applications will not be accepted; cooperation between partners from both nations is a prerequisite.
Thematic Areas for Collaboration
Proposals are invited in several cutting-edge fields reflecting strategic priorities and emerging technologies:
- Core and Generative Artificial Intelligence: Development of foundational AI technologies and applications.
- Hydrogen Energy and Energy Storage: Innovations in sustainable energy solutions.
- Sustainable Agriculture: Technologies aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.
- Advanced Materials for Aviation: Research on novel materials with applications in aerospace.
- Internet of Things (IoT) in Space Technologies: Exploring IoT applications for space systems.
- Robotics in Space Technologies: Development of robotic technologies suited for space exploration and utilization.
These focused areas underline the commitment of both countries to advance technology-driven sectors and address global challenges through joint innovation.
Application Process and Deadlines
Interested Turkish project teams are required to partner with Malaysian counterparts to submit joint proposals. Applications must be submitted via the TÜBİTAK Online Application System.
- Application deadline: 21 July 2025
- E-signature deadline for applications: 28 July 2025
