Solidion Technology Secures U.S. DOE Grant to Spearhead Advanced Graphite Manufacturing from Biomass

Solidion Technology Awarded Grant From The U.S. Department of Energy

Dallas, TX – November 21, 2025 — Solidion Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: STI), a leading developer of advanced battery technology solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to support cutting-edge research in the electrochemical manufacturing of high-performance graphite derived from biomass-based carbon. This prestigious grant comes as part of the DOE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) OPEN program, a highly competitive initiative aimed at accelerating breakthrough energy technologies.

The awarded project will be conducted in close collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), marking a continuation of Solidion’s successful partnership with the national laboratory. Solidion recently earned the coveted 2025 R&D 100 Award alongside ORNL for their innovation in Electrochemical Graphitization in Molten Salts (E-GRIMS), underscoring the company’s growing influence in next-generation battery materials research.

Advancing U.S. Energy Independence and Technological Leadership

The DOE grant will accelerate Solidion’s efforts to develop sustainable and commercially viable graphite production methods using biomass-derived carbon sources. This initiative supports the Department of Energy’s broader mission to reduce reliance on imported critical energy materials, enhance American energy security, and ensure the United States remains a leader in advanced energy technology development.

Jaymes Winters, Chief Executive Officer of Solidion Technology, commented on the award:
"This grant is a testament to the innovative strength of Solidion’s extensive patent portfolio and our commitment to delivering breakthrough battery technologies. As a proud U.S.-based manufacturer, we are well-positioned to leverage these resources and push forward the commercialization of sustainable, high-performance graphite materials vital for the energy storage and electric vehicle markets."
