Siemens Türkiye: A Rising Star in Global Technology Exports

Türkiye Emerges as a Global Technology Export Hub for Siemens

Istanbul, December 15, 2025 – Siemens Türkiye, the Turkish subsidiary of the German technology giant Siemens, has solidified Türkiye’s position as a vital center for the company’s global production, export, engineering, and research and development activities. This development marks Türkiye as an expanding technology export hub within Siemens’ worldwide ecosystem.

Huseyin Gelis, Chair of Siemens Türkiye, highlighted the strategic importance of Türkiye in the company’s global success over the past year. Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Gelis emphasized that beyond being a key market, Türkiye serves as a crucial hub supplying advanced technological solutions globally. “This year was a period during which we increased Türkiye’s share, added value, and strategic impact in the global Siemens ecosystem,” he said. Gelis added that Siemens Türkiye is committed to continuing its active role in transforming the Turkish industry by leveraging its combined know-how and R&D capabilities.

Driving Industrial Digital Transformation

Gelis remarked that digital transformation has become essential for companies aiming to maintain competitiveness in the modern industrial landscape. With initial pilot projects having been completed, Turkish firms are now demanding more integrated, scalable, and data-driven solutions fortified with robust cybersecurity measures. Among the core technological advancements are artificial intelligence (AI)-powered production optimization, automation, and real-time data analytics—all key enablers for enhancing operational efficiency and industry competitiveness.

Underpinning this focus, Siemens’ global strategy prioritizes AI automation, smart infrastructure, and sustainability, areas that have shaped investment and business development decisions in Türkiye. “Our approach targets energy, industry, and infrastructure transformation, addressing domestic market needs from a global perspective,” Gelis said. The company aims to build a foundation for long-term, sustainable growth within the country.

Pioneering Projects and Sectoral Impact

Siemens Türkiye has spearheaded various transformative projects this year across diverse sectors. Notable achievements include its support for steelmaker Kardemir through electrification, automation modernization, and digital energy management solutions, enhancing productivity within the iron and steel industry.

In the petrochemical sector, Siemens Türkiye partnered with SOCAR Türkiye to overhaul the energy infrastructure across 15 main facilities and modernize a total of 18 factories at Petkim. Furthermore, in Gaziantep—the site of Türkiye’s largest organized industrial zone—the company implemented energy services for 500 new industrial plots. This landmark project incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as air- and gas-insulated, double-busbar medium-voltage switching solutions, advanced digital protection systems, energy automation, and Internet of Things (IoT)-based health monitoring sensors.

Looking Ahead: Continued Transformation in 2026

Looking to the future, Gelis confirmed that the industrial transformation momentum will accelerate throughout 2026. Siemens Türkiye plans to remain at the forefront by leveraging its global expertise and domestic capabilities to deliver solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions, boosting efficiency, and providing comprehensive digital measurement and analytics across energy infrastructure, industrial facilities, urban environments, and transport systems.

Despite challenges posed by global geopolitical developments impacting currency, interest rates, and energy markets, Gelis expressed confidence in Türkiye’s resilience. “We will continue prioritizing digitalization, AI-powered applications, energy efficiency, industrial automation, and digital twin technologies,” he added. Siemens is delivering these solutions through its Siemens Xcelerator platform, fostering increased collaboration with business partners.

Further commitments include strengthening employment, nurturing talent development, expanding domestic high-tech production, and promoting sustainable technologies. Siemens Türkiye’s ongoing projects are set to underpin Türkiye’s digital future, advancing the widespread adoption of digital industrial applications and the development of smart grid and energy storage systems.
