Advanced Cooling Technology for Sustainable Performance
StatePoint® represents the next generation of award-winning cooling solutions developed by Nortek DCC. Designed specifically to meet the challenging demands of hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centres, this hybrid liquid cooling system offers breakthrough improvements in thermal management while reducing water and energy consumption. Key features include a liquid-to-air energy exchanger combined with membrane-based evaporative cooling, which significantly minimizes reliance on mechanical cooling systems and dramatically lowers water usage.
By integrating StatePoint® technology, the KR1 Gangnam Data Centre achieves exemplary metrics in Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), surpassing South Korea’s traditional benchmarks. This positions the facility as one of the most environmentally efficient data centres in the country.

The KR1 Gangnam Data Centre is situated in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, occupying an area of 30,714 square meters. Notably, it is the first new data centre development in Seoul’s prominent Gangnam district in over a decade. With a purpose-built IT capacity of 29.4 megawatts, the GDC is engineered to support the most energy-intensive AI and HPC applications while aligning with South Korea’s increasing emphasis on sustainability.

Project Timeline and Background
