Honda Hosts Seminar on Smart Technology at SMK Marelan and Lubuk Pakam

Deli Serdang, IDN Times – August 31, 2025 – Strengthening the synergy between knowledge and technology in vocational education continues to thrive in North Sumatra with the successful organization of the Honda Smart Technology Seminar 2025. The seminar took place at two vocational high schools (SMK) affiliated with Astra Honda Motor (AHM), namely SMK Budi Agung Marelan and SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam.

Enhancing Learning Through Seminars, Exhibitions, and Service Events

The event was more than just a seminar. It featured a comprehensive series of activities including motorcycle unit exhibitions and service events that gave students hands-on experience in technical and after-sales service fields.

On August 26, 2025, SMK Budi Agung Marelan hosted the first seminar in collaboration with AHASS PT Prima Agung Motorindo Medan Marelan. This session was designed to provide students from the Motorcycle Engineering and Business (Teknik dan Bisnis Sepeda Motor – TBSM) department with in-depth knowledge about Honda’s advanced technologies. The topics covered included the PGM-FI fuel injection system, enhanced Smart Power (eSP) engine efficiency, Combined Brake System (CBS) for braking safety, and security features such as the Answer Back System and Anti Theft Alarm.

Continuing the Initiative in Lubuk Pakam

The series continued on August 27, 2025, at SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam, following a similar concept. The event featured smart technology seminars, motorcycle unit exhibitions from the Honda Rotella Persada Mandiri dealership, and active service events involving both students and school members.

Alongside technology demonstrations, the seminar emphasized the importance of mental readiness and work character in vocational students to prepare them for the industrial world. It stressed that technical skills must be matched with discipline, responsibility, and adaptability to emerging changes in the industry.

Building a Competent Generation Ready for the Future

Feri Panji, a Technical Service Instructor from PT Indako Trading Company, highlighted the seminar as a strategic platform for nurturing vocational school generations who are not only technologically adept but also prepared to face the fast-changing automotive industry challenges.

“We aim for these young individuals to grow into skilled, competitive professionals who will bring positive impacts in their future workplaces,” Feri stated.

Honda’s Continued Support for Vocational Education

Echoing this commitment, Leo Wijaya, Vice President Director of PT Indako Trading Company, reaffirmed Honda’s ongoing support for vocational education strengthening through continuous collaboration with educational institutions. He described this as part of Honda’s mission to cultivate superior generations ready to face future industrial challenges.

“We believe innovation does not emerge in a vacuum but comes from continuous learning and undying passion,” Leo said.

The Honda Smart Technology Seminar 2025 at SMK Marelan and Lubuk Pakam reinforces the vital link between industry leaders and educational institutions in Indonesia, inspiring students to build the skills and mindset necessary for success in the dynamic world of automotive technology.
