Indonesia and Taiwan Strengthen Green Technology Synergy in the Metal Industry

Indonesia and Taiwan have taken significant steps to reinforce their collaboration in green technology and industrial capacity building during the 10th International Metal Technology Taiwan (IMT Taiwan) event held in Taiwan. This partnership highlights a shared commitment to developing a sustainable metal industry supply chain that benefits both countries.
The Indonesian delegation, led by the Indonesian Metal and Machine Industry Association (GAMMA), actively participated in the forum. Rahajeng Widya, Director of Corporate and International Business at GAMMA, emphasized that the cooperation goes beyond showcasing technology. It serves as a platform to build mutually beneficial industrial synergies.
“IMT Taiwan provides a collaborative space that opens opportunities for environmentally friendly technology transfer and enhances the human resource capacity of Indonesia’s industrial sector,” Widya stated in a release received by Redaksi on Sunday (October 19, 2025).
Widya further highlighted Indonesia’s potential as a regional production hub capable of supporting the development of future-oriented metal and machinery industries. She underscored the importance of partnerships based on added value and equality between nations.
“We want to ensure that this collaboration delivers tangible benefits for both parties, especially in strengthening the green industrial ecosystem,” she added.
Pushing for Low-Emission Industrial Transformation
Dadang Asikin, Chairman of GAMMA, noted that Indonesia’s participation in IMT Taiwan represents a concrete step toward transforming the national industry into a high-tech, low-emission manufacturing sector.
“Forums like this are crucial to accelerating the adoption of green technologies and opening investment avenues that support downstream industrial activities domestically,” Dadang explained.
GAMMA is committed to expanding its global partnership network in sectors such as precision engineering, manufacturing components, and green industrial innovation. This collaboration aims to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the face of a global industrial landscape that increasingly prioritizes sustainability.
The strengthened cooperation aligns with both countries’ objectives to foster greener industrial practices while supporting economic growth and technological advancement in the metal industry.
