GCL Energy Technology Advances Two Large-Scale Clean Energy Projects through Partnership with PLN IP in Indonesia
Jakarta, November 4, 2025 — In a significant move toward accelerating the global clean energy transition, GCL Energy Technology (GCLET), a subsidiary of the GCL Group, has officially inaugurated a partnership agreement with PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP), a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state electricity company, PLN. This collaboration centers on the development of two large-scale clean energy projects in Indonesia.
On October 31, GCL Intelligent Energy (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., under GCLET, signed a shareholders agreement marking the commencement of two major solar power projects. The first is a 100 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted photovoltaic solar power plant located in Banyuwangi. The second is a 100 MW floating solar photovoltaic power station at Gajah Mungkur. These projects are part of Indonesia’s Hijaunesia initiative, the government’s priority program aimed at accelerating renewable energy development nationwide.
During the signing ceremony, Yu Xiaodong, GCL Group’s Chief Representative in Indonesia, formalized the agreement with PLN IP’s Vice President, Julita Indah, alongside her delegation. Yu Xiaodong also outlined GCL’s international business strategy and long-term growth plans. Julita Indah expressed strong appreciation for GCL’s technical expertise and global leadership in renewable energy. She further conveyed PLN IP’s interest in expanding collaboration in additional sectors such as solar, waste-to-energy, wind energy, and energy storage solutions.
The projects are poised to play a vital role in sustaining Indonesia’s clean energy goals by providing reliable, environmentally friendly electricity to local regions once operational. This partnership reinforces GCL’s commitment to “Bringing Green Energy to Life” and exemplifies its strategy for international expansion.
GCL Energy Technology’s international team in Indonesia has been active in the local clean energy market for years. Their professionalism, operational excellence, and consistent performance have earned recognition from government institutions, PLN, and local partners. This strong foundation supports GCL Group’s international growth ambitions and contributes to Indonesia’s broader sustainable energy transition.
With this development, GCL Energy Technology and PLN IP are set to strengthen Indonesia’s clean energy infrastructure while fostering innovation and sustainability in the region.
