Boston, USA – June 16, 2025
Representing the Empresa de Tecnologia da Informação do Ceará (Etice), Ronald Gualberto, Director of Relationships and Business, and David Gois, Director of Operations, recently undertook an institutional visit to the Autodesk Technology Center in Boston, United States. The visit took place from June 9 to June 11, 2025, focusing on exploring cutting-edge technological solutions aligned with the strategic projects of the Ceará state government.
Fostering Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation
During their visit, the Etice directors engaged in discussions centered around innovation, digital transformation, and advanced design and engineering solutions. The delegation had the opportunity to witness firsthand the latest technologies developed by Autodesk, particularly in areas such as 3D modeling, artificial intelligence applications in engineering, digital twins, and industrial process automation.
Ronald Gualberto highlighted the significance of the experience, stating, “What we have seen here reinforces the potential technology holds to transform public services in Ceará. The use of artificial intelligence and automation can make a significant difference in our projects.”
Exploring Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Public Policy
An important focus of the visit was gaining a deeper understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM), an innovative collaborative process that utilizes intelligent 3D models to manage information throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This technology is being considered for implementation as part of Ceará’s public policy initiatives.
David Gois emphasized the value of the visit, noting, “Establishing ties with centers of global excellence enables us to bring new ideas and innovative solutions to Ceará.”
Knowledge Exchange with Industry and Academia
The event also brought together experts, companies, and representatives from both public and private sectors across Brazil, aiming to discuss the future of technology in public administration, civil construction, manufacturing, and digital infrastructure.
Beyond Autodesk, the Etice directors expanded their itinerary to include visits to two of Boston’s premier academic institutions. On June 11, they visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where they learned about research and innovation initiatives geared toward Brazil, with particular emphasis on data science, smart cities, and technology applied to public management.
The delegation concluded their institutional visit with a brief stop at Harvard University, strengthening connections with an academic environment renowned worldwide. This engagement is expected to foster future partnerships and collaborative projects for technological development in Ceará.
This strategic visit underscores the Ceará government’s commitment to leveraging state-of-the-art technology and academic collaboration in advancing public services and infrastructure through innovation.
