National Technology Summit 2025: Linknet Reinforces Collaborative Model to Expand Internet Access in Indonesia
JAKARTA – The National Technology Summit 2025 concluded today, wrapping up a series of cross-sector discussions focusing on sustainable connectivity, inclusive digitalization, and industry synergy within Indonesia’s technology landscape. The event, jointly organized by Linknet and the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), aimed to strengthen the national digital ecosystem through collaboration.
On the final day of the summit, Linknet reaffirmed its commitment to developing a nationwide connectivity ecosystem founded on a collaborative approach. Highlighting the importance of expanding home broadband networks across Indonesia, Linknet emphasized that significant growth potential still exists, especially beyond urban centers and outside Java Island.
According to data presented during the discussions, internet access in Indonesia is still largely dominated by mobile usage. However, as demand for digital services requiring greater stability and higher capacity grows, fiber-based connections are becoming increasingly essential.
Erick Satya Arianto, Chief Technology and Network Officer at Linknet, pointed out, “The main challenge for Indonesia’s digital infrastructure is not merely technological but geographical. With 70 percent of the country consisting of ocean areas, building home-to-home connectivity cannot be done alone. That is why we choose a collaboration model rather than competition.”
Erick further explained that Linknet’s current focus is to act as an infrastructure provider that can be utilized by various internet service providers (ISPs). Meanwhile, ISPs take on responsibilities related to products, customer service, and market penetration in their respective regions.
This collaborative strategy aims to address Indonesia’s unique geographic challenges and facilitate broader internet access nationwide, thereby fostering greater digital inclusivity and economic development.
The National Technology Summit 2025 successfully underscored the critical role of public and private sector partnership in advancing Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and highlighted the path forward for expanding internet connectivity across the archipelago.
