Claudia Sheinbaum Departures for G7 Summit in Canada
Mexico City, June 16, 2025 – President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo of Mexico leaves for Canada. She goes to join the Group of Seven Summit. The summit runs from June 15 to 17 at Kananaskis Village in Alberta. This trip marks her third journey abroad. She first went to the G20 Summit in Brazil in November 2024. Sheinbaum shared her travel details on social media. She left Mexico City on a morning commercial flight. Her flight lands at Calgary International Airport at about 3:40 PM local time.
On June 16, after her arrival, she will meet the Canadian Business Council at 6:00 PM to talk about the economy. The next day, she plans several talks with international leaders. Notably, she will meet U.S. President Donald Trump face to face. They will talk about migration, trade, arms, drugs, remittances, and immigration raids in Los Angeles.
Engaging in Multilateral Talks
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney leads the G7 Summit. Leaders from seven strong economies come together to work on global issues. As planned, Sheinbaum will meet Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa. She will also talk with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Along with her, top officials join her delegation. They include Juan Ramón de la Fuente (Foreign Relations), Marcelo Ebrard (Economy), Omar García Harfuch (Security and Citizen Protection), and Edgar Abraham Amador (Finance and Public Credit).
