Innovative Technology and Applications Recognised at Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025
Hong Kong, November 21, 2025 — The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025 presentation ceremony was held on the evening of November 21, celebrating the outstanding achievements in information and communications technology (ICT) innovations and applications. The prestigious event highlighted breakthrough projects by local companies and institutions, with a spotlight on artificial intelligence (AI) as a driving force behind this year’s competitive entries.
SmartMore Corporation Limited took home the highest honour of the year, receiving the Award of the Year from Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul Chan. The accolade followed their success in winning the Smart Business Grand Award for their product "SMore ViMo – AI Vision Model Development & Deployment Platform," which impressed judges with its innovative AI capabilities.
Addressing the audience at the ceremony, Mr. Chan emphasized the role of the Hong Kong ICT Awards as a catalyst for technological progress. He remarked, “The Hong Kong ICT Awards sets new benchmarks for excellence, inspiring both seasoned professionals and budding talent to expand their imagination, push the boundaries of technology, and create innovative solutions to address society’s pain points and challenges.”
Mr. Chan also noted the increasing importance of AI, which was recognized across all eight award categories this year through a dedicated Best Use of AI Award. Reflecting Hong Kong’s commitment to AI development, he affirmed that the government has placed AI at the core of its innovation and technology strategy. This approach aims to cultivate AI as a key industry and leverage its potential to transform traditional sectors.
The Hong Kong ICT Awards, established in 2006, serve to recognise and promote exceptional local ICT innovations while helping winners to gain exposure in Mainland China and international markets. The 2025 awards were organised by the Digital Policy Office in collaboration with eight Leading Organisers, supported by a Steering Committee, Grand Judging Panel, and various industry bodies.
Professor Paul Lam, Chairman of the Grand Judging Panel and President of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, congratulated all winners. He praised their innovative projects and their tangible benefits to society, stating, “This year’s awardees have leveraged innovative ideas and cutting-edge technologies, combined with industry expertise, to present practical and creative solutions for an array of commercial and social challenges.
