Honoring Excellence in Science and Technology Journalism at the 2025 Awards Ceremony
Hanoi, February 6, 2026 – The Ministry of Science and Technology held the prestigious 2025 Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation Journalism Awards ceremony in Hanoi, celebrating outstanding journalistic contributions that highlight Vietnam’s advances in these critical fields.
The annual award not only acknowledges exceptional journalistic works but also serves as an opportunity to reflect on the vital role that media plays in communicating the Party and State’s policies on science and technology innovations. It further reinforces journalism’s role in nurturing the spirit of innovation and facilitating the application of scientific research in everyday life and industry.
A Long-Standing Tradition of Excellence
Now in its 14th year, the 2025 Journalism Awards continue to attract enthusiastic participation from press agencies across the country, both at the central and local levels. This year, the Organizing Committee received nearly 700 submissions from individual and group authors, underscoring the growing interest and maturity of science and technology journalism in Vietnam.
The Ministry of Science and Technology approved awards for 22 outstanding works and groups of works, which include five First Prizes, five Second Prizes, six Third Prizes, and six Consolation Prizes.
Highlights from the Award Ceremony
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong spoke at the event, highlighting the evolution of journalistic writing on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Vietnam. He noted the depth and substance of this year’s winning works, many of which do more than showcase achievements — they grapple directly with core issues in development such as institutional innovations, ecosystem promotion for innovation, grassroots digital transformation, and the practical application of technologies in healthcare, agriculture, industry, and social life.
“What is most remarkable,” Deputy Minister Phuong commented, “is how journalists have moved beyond observation. They have engaged directly with scientific realities, working alongside local governments, enterprises, and scientists to ask the right questions and offer real solutions.”
In addition to honoring the winners, Deputy Minister Phuong officially launched the 2026 Journalism Awards, emphasizing their continuation in alignment with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57. The coming year’s awards aim to deepen coverage of how science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation policies translate into tangible improvements in production, business, and social governance.
