Until now, BBVA Technology América’s focus was exclusively on technology solutions. The new strategy introduces specialized service centers designed to support vital BBVA business areas such as Global Risk Management (GRM) and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). These services will span three continents — America, Europe, and Asia — creating a more integrated and robust global support network.

A major milestone was the 2015 inauguration of the “Centro de Procesamiento de Datos Lago Esmeralda (CPD LE)” in the State of Mexico, which established the firm as a regional technology hub by integrating services from data centers across the continent.
The current BBVA Technology América is the result of the merger of subsidiaries such as BBVA Axial Tech, Datio, and BBVA Next Technologies.
