Bart Kerkhofs Appointed Digital Technology Director at Tata Steel Europe
IJmuiden, Netherlands – October 14, 2025 — Tata Steel Europe has announced the appointment of Bart Kerkhofs as its new Director of Digital Technology. Kerkhofs, who until recently served as IT Director and Vice President of Information Technology for Bridgestone EMIA, will play a key role in advancing Tata Steel’s digital strategy to support its ‘Green Steel’ initiative.
After eight years at Bridgestone, where he led IT operations across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa, Kerkhofs is relocating to the Netherlands to join Tata Steel’s headquarters in IJmuiden. In this new capacity, he is tasked with driving the company’s digital transformation efforts, particularly in accelerating the development and deployment of sustainable steel production technologies.
Bart Kerkhofs brings over two decades of experience in IT leadership, having held various senior positions at global companies including Procter & Gamble, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and DXC Technology. His extensive background in managing information technology and digital innovation is expected to contribute significantly to Tata Steel Europe’s ambitious sustainability goals.
The ‘Green Steel’ initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact of steel manufacturing by integrating cutting-edge digital technologies and sustainable practices. Kerkhofs’s expertise will be instrumental in embedding digital solutions throughout the company’s operations to enhance efficiency and support its commitment to greener steel production.
