Aetna, a CVS Health company, has recently announced its forward-looking Medicare products for 2025. Strongly emphasizing core benefits that holistically support members’ health, Aetna is introducing several enhancements to its existing plans. These significant improvements underscore the company’s commitment to providing accessible, comprehensive healthcare options tailored to the diverse needs of Medicare-eligible beneficiaries.
Core and Expanded Benefits
The newly announced plans boast a range of compelling benefits including $0 monthly premiums, $0 primary care copays, and $0 copays for Tier 1 drugs. Members will also benefit from comprehensive dental, vision, and hearing services, along with membership in SilverSneakers, a popular fitness program designed for older adults. These benefits aim to encourage preventive care and facilitate healthier lifestyles.
Expansion to Additional Counties
To enhance accessibility, Aetna will extend its Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans across 44 states plus Washington, D.C., adding 76 new counties to its service area. This expansion increases access to Aetna’s plans to an impressive 662,000 additional Medicare-eligible beneficiaries. In total, Aetna plans to cover 2,259 counties, making its offerings available to 59 million potential members.
Special Needs Plans and $0 Premium Options
Aetna’s plans also feature Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) for individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. These plans are specifically designed to address unique health and social barriers. Moreover, Aetna estimates that 83% of Medicare-eligible individuals in the U.S. will have access to a $0 monthly premium Aetna Medicare Advantage plan, highlighting the company’s dedication to affordability.
Comprehensive Product Portfolio and Additional Benefits
Aetna’s extensive product portfolio includes Medicare Advantage (MA) only plans, prescription drug plans (PDP), Medicare Supplemental policies, and ancillary products to cater to a variety of consumer needs. Notably, all 2025 Aetna Medicare Eagle plans offer zero copays for essential services such as laboratory tests, colonoscopies, and routine eye and hearing exams. These plans also provide over-the-counter allowances and continue to offer SilverSneakers benefits.
Varied Plan Types and Enhanced Customer Support
Aetna will offer a variety of plan types, including Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) products, which provide flexibility, and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) products, which prioritize affordability. Special Needs Plans tailored for managing specific health conditions will also be available. Additionally, Aetna’s Member Services team will remain dedicated to assisting members with inquiries regarding their Individual MA plans, ensuring diligent support to maintain reliable and affordable healthcare access.
