Davenport Appoints Mike Boddicker as New Information Technology Director
Davenport, Iowa — The city of Davenport has announced the appointment of Mike Boddicker as its new Information Technology (IT) Director. Boddicker is set to begin his role on December 22, 2025, where he will oversee the city’s technology and cybersecurity operations supporting essential public services.
According to a press release from the city, Boddicker brings extensive experience managing IT infrastructure across both private and public sectors. Most recently, he served as an IT Specialist with the Army Contracting Command at the Rock Island Arsenal. His diverse background is expected to enhance Davenport’s technological capabilities and cyber defenses.
“Civil Service has been a rewarding career path for me,” Boddicker said. “I intend to strengthen the enterprise’s cyber posture and adopt a more forward-thinking approach to how we conduct business, while remaining fiscally responsible and mitigating risk.”
In his new position, Boddicker will be responsible for ensuring that the city’s IT resources operate securely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards. He will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners to align technology initiatives with Davenport’s strategic goals.
Tim Gleason, Interim City Administrator, expressed confidence in Boddicker’s leadership, stating, “Mike is a strong leader who will both meet the immediate needs of the IT department and move the city’s technology forward. Boddicker holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology and a master’s degree in cybersecurity management from Purdue University Global. His academic credentials and professional experience position him well to handle the complex demands of the role.
