Samsung Brings Cinematic Innovation to Life: Wins Applied Technology Award 2025 for Pathé Palace Project

Samsung Wins the 2025 Applied Technology Award for the Pathé Palace Project

Samsung has been honored with the prestigious Applied Technology Award at the 2025 Inavation Awards, presented by Integrated Systems Europe (ISE). This accolade recognizes the most effective and innovative use of technology in real-world applications. Samsung received this distinguished award for its Pathé Palace project in Paris, demonstrating cutting-edge advancements in cinematic technology and immersive viewer experiences.

Redefining Cinematic Experience at Pathé Palace

The Pathé Palace cinema in Paris now benefits from Samsung’s revolutionary Onyx LED technology, installed in six of its theaters. This includes four massive 4K screens each exceeding 10 meters wide, and two 2K screens measuring 5 meters wide. Every Onyx screen is certified under the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) standards and offers extraordinary picture quality distinguished by vibrant colors, deep contrasts, and brightness levels six times greater than traditional projectors. These features combine to provide an unparalleled visual immersion for cinema-goers.

Beyond the Screens: An All-Encompassing Technological Upgrade

Samsung’s innovation extends beyond the main screening rooms. The cinema’s main lobby now features a colossal 8K “The Wall” display measuring 5.4 by 9.6 meters. Additionally, the common areas are equipped with Samsung’s QMC series display panels, and the administrative offices benefit from nearly 200 units of the ViewFinity S9 5K monitors. This comprehensive enhancement project is a continuation of a longstanding partnership between Samsung and Pathé, building on earlier collaborations at cinemas in Paris and Lyon.

A Statement from Samsung France

Jérémy Taghon, Director of the Consumer Electronics B2B division at Samsung Electronics France, remarked: “This award acknowledges our ability to deliver extraordinary projects with exceptional products and technically complex deployments. With the Pathé Palace, we demonstrate once again that Samsung leads innovation in the cinema sector by offering solutions that revolutionize the big-screen experience.”
