‘Technology with Heart’ Awards Celebrate Outstanding Achievements in Tech Through Photography and Video

Hanoi, October 23, 2025 — The second edition of the “Technology with Heart” (Công nghệ từ trái tim) photo and video awards ceremony took place this afternoon in Hanoi, honoring 32 exceptional works that highlight the profound impact of technology on society. The event, a collaboration between Vietnam News Agency (TTXVN) and Viettel Group, was designed to celebrate creative contributions in technology and to share compelling, heartfelt stories conveyed through powerful visual imagery.

Celebrating Innovation with a Purpose

Opening the ceremony, Mrs. Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency and Chair of the Awards Council, emphasized the significance of the theme for this edition: “Vietnamese Creativity – The Path to Prosperity.” She remarked that the theme conveys the vital message of how innovation and intellect fuel national development and sustainable progress in the digital era.

“Technology achievements today not only make life more convenient and transparent,” Mrs. Vu stated, “but they also serve as a significant driving force propelling our country towards sustainable growth and prosperity.” This aligns with the spirit of the draft documents prepared for the 14th Party Congress and echoes key resolutions like the Politburo’s Resolution 57 as well as strategic policies of the Party and State.

Partnership in Storytelling and Innovation

Mrs. Vu Viet Trang further highlighted Vietnam News Agency’s role as the nation’s leading press agency in capturing and conveying authentic, vivid narratives about the country’s scientific and technological milestones. Recognizing the need for fresh perspectives and emotional storytelling, TTXVN teamed up with Viettel, a pioneer in technological innovation and digital transformation, to continue fostering this prestigious award.

Competition and Awards

This year, the competition received an impressive 1,131 single photos, 229 photo collections, and 122 videos. Following a fair, objective judging process over three rigorous rounds, the jury selected 32 outstanding pieces to receive awards:

  • Photo Collections: 11 prizes (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Consolation Prizes)
  • Single Photos: 10 prizes (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 4 Consolation Prizes)
  • Videos: 11 prizes (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Consolation Prizes)

Award-Winning Works Illuminate Technology’s Human Side

The grand prize in the single photo category went to Bui Van Van from Ho Chi Minh City for his powerful photograph titled “Joy of Meeting Robots.”

The photo collection top prize honored Nguyen Phu Khanh and Tran Thanh Giang from Hanoi, whose series “Robots as AI Employees Serving Public Administration in Hanoi” vividly captures the integration of AI robots in city government services. Since July 10, 2025, these AI-powered robots have been deployed in Hanoi’s Cua Nam ward, offering services such as automated queue management, online feedback collection, electronic information boards, autonomous movement with refreshments, AI conversational support, and on-site assistance. The series highlights how these robots humanize administrative procedures, promoting transparency and friendly interaction.

In the video category, the first prize went to journalists Luc Huong Thu and Nguyen Tuan Khoi from Lao Cai for their video clip “Lao Cai Students Develop Early Warning System for Natural Disasters.” The piece tells the inspiring story of three students from Lao Cai Specialized High School who created an emergency alert system following a devastating flash flood caused by Typhoon Yagi in 2024. The work not only showcases youth creativity but also underscores the social responsibility of journalism in the digital age.

Judges’ Appraisal and Reflections by Winners

The judging panel commended the winning entries for their authentic, heartfelt storytelling that reveals technology’s role in bringing people closer while preserving humanity and compassion. “Technology is no longer just a tool — it connects hearts and fosters love,” said the judges, emphasizing the humanistic and artistic value that “Technology with Heart” encapsulates.

Reflecting on her award-winning video, reporter Luc Huong Thu shared her pride and honor. She emphasized the power of knowledge and technology to protect communities vulnerable to natural disasters. “Technology helps journalists better understand, connect, and spread love,” she noted, adding that technological progress enriches rather than diminishes the human touch in news reporting.

Similarly, Nguyen Phu Khanh recalled the emotional experience behind his photo series, highlighting the positive public reactions and smiles of citizens benefiting from the AI robot services. “Technology is a means to better serve people,” he affirmed, seeing the award as encouragement to continue inspiring social progress grounded in innovation, integrity, and happiness.

Exhibition and Interactive Activities

Following the awards ceremony, 63 standout works from the competition were exhibited at Tao Dan Park, opposite the National Press Center in Hanoi. Viettel also organized engaging mini-games attracting young tech enthusiasts. The first 100 participants received Viettel gifts, while special prizes — including AirPods 4 and a photo book titled “A80: The Homeland in Our Hearts” — were awarded for the most impressive photo and video social media check-ins.

The “Technology with Heart” awards continue to be a meaningful platform fostering creative expressions of Vietnam’s technological achievements and their vibrant, human-centered impact on society.
