Siemens Powers the Future of Yachting: Introducing the Revolutionary Bluegame BGF45

Siemens Technology Drives Maritime Innovation in Bluegame’s New BGF45 Yacht

Zug, Switzerland – September 12, 2025 — Siemens AG has announced a pivotal collaboration with Bluegame, an esteemed Italian luxury yacht brand under the Sanlorenzo Group, as the “Innovative Technology Partner” for Bluegame’s new BGF45 yacht model. This groundbreaking vessel, the first in Bluegame’s BGF series of foiling multihulls, made its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival held from September 9 to 14, the largest on-water boat show in Europe.

Cutting-Edge SENTRON ECPD Technology at the Core

At the heart of this partnership is Siemens’ cutting-edge SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) technology. This semiconductor-based solution forms the core of the yacht’s electrification system and reflects one of the most advanced circuit protection devices globally. Thanks to its sophisticated electronic architecture, SENTRON ECPD guarantees exceptional safety, reliability, and operational continuity under various sailing conditions.

Integrated within the yacht’s electrical panels, the SENTRON ECPD offers intelligent energy flow management through advanced monitoring features, enhancing overall efficiency. Its ultra-fast fault response minimizes operational anomalies, which reduces maintenance costs while ensuring seamless performance and onboard comfort.

Versatility Tailored for Maritime Needs

Another hallmark of the SENTRON ECPD is its exceptional adaptability. The technology is designed to smartly adjust its configurations and responses based on the yacht’s specific electrical demands and customization levels. This ensures not only peak performance but also boosts the vessel’s sustainability.

Andreas Matthé, CEO Electrical Products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, stated, “With our groundbreaking SENTRON ECPD, we provide industry-leading technology that contributes to the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and sustainability, even on the world’s oceans.”

Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

Aligned with Bluegame’s comprehensive sustainability strategy—which embraces environmental, social, and economic pillars and actively supports the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals—the collaboration emphasizes minimizing environmental impact. The SENTRON ECPD is among the first Siemens products certified with the Siemens EcoTech label, a pioneering certification setting new standards for transparency and ecological responsibility in the industry.

By replacing numerous conventional devices with a single multifunctional unit, the SENTRON ECPD requires approximately 85% less space in the yacht’s electrical distribution board. It achieves significant material savings—up to 80% reduction in electronics, and 90% reductions in both metals and plastics—thereby embodying sustainable innovation without compromising on performance.
